Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has allocated more than 33 hectares of the almost 132-hectare Lee Point developmentĀ for rehabilitation and conservation. Approximately 22 hectares will be transferred to the Northern Territory Government Department of Environmental, Parks and Water Security to extend the existing Casuarina Coastal Reserve.
DHA will first rehabilitate erosion gullies by stabilising the gullies, restoring natural landforms and improving environmental conditions through native vegetation, in line with the Lee Point Project Development Agreement.
These works are expected to commence in 2026.
DHA will add pedestrian and mountain bike trails before the land is transferred.
